Boston is the largest city and capital of Massachusetts and one of the oldest cities in America, founded in 1630. Many crucial events of the American Revolution occurred in the city including the Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre and the Battle of Bunker Hill.
Boston lies at the mouths of the Mystic and Charles rivers, giving rise to the Boston Harbor where a number of undeveloped islands and the Port of Boston can be found.
Boston has teams in all four major North American professional sports leagues - the Celtics (NBA), the Bruins (NHL), the Red Sox (MLB) and the Patriots (NFL). They are one of the few cities that have won championships in all four sports, winning eight since 2001.
